Job Summary
- Summary
Serves as the lead for business processes related to purchasing expense management and Financial Management System (FMS) entries for the Office of Student Housing. This position is responsible for managing the Student Housing Budgets finances and contracts which close to $50 million annually. This position will analyze forecast and track Student Housing budget as well as monitor other departments charge backs to Student Housing. This position will also develop and implement financial policies and procedures conducts financial feasibility and planning studies and performs in-depth financial analysis to support Office of Student Housing decision-making. This position maintains and oversees various financial software programs for purchasing and reporting. Prepares and maintains records and reports related to fiscal activities and operations. Responsible for data analysis and recommendations related to financial operations and internal control procedures.
- Essential Functions
- Coordinates the annual budget process which includes development of budget templates compliance with university budget policies detailed analysis as well as short and long term strategic planning. Develops and administers annual budgets for the Office of Student Housing.
- Performs benchmarking research ad hoc analysis (e.g. financial results variance analysis efficiencies) and special projects as necessary. Develops financial tools and training materials to assist management with monitoring budgets and expenditures to better manage the financial aspect of their departments. Provides in-service training and education in regard to FMS and other university systems budgets and other financial topics.
- Advises the Director of Student Housing in matters related to personnel operating budgets purchasing and other related financial matters. This includes: reviews financial solvency produces detailed financial data performs financial analysis verifies annual budget loads verifies year-end balances develop building proformas and ensures the accuracy of these transactions in FMS.
- Responsible for ensuring data is entered correctly in the University systems for purchasing
- Serves as a representative on ad hoc committees search committees and other university committees as requested.
- Supervises a classified staff position.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
- Bachelors degree required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 3 years budgeting and fiscal analysis
- 2 years experience in higher education
