Our colleagues are our greatest asset and we take pride in creating an environment where talent is valued developed and assistant chief laundry mechanic supports the chief laundry mechanic in maintaining and repairing all commercial laundry equipment to ensure safe efficient and uninterrupted hotel laundry position performs advanced mechanical maintenance assists in supervising daily maintenance activities and serves as acting lead in the absence of the Chief Laundry Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Chief Laundry Mechanic in overseeing the maintenance and repair of all commercial laundry equipment including washers dryers ironers folders presses conveyors and chemical dispensing preventative maintenance schedules on all laundry equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic and plumbing issues affecting laundry the chief Laundry Mechanic in coordinating daily maintenance activities and work as acting lead mechanic during the Chief Laundry Mechanics in maintaining steam water air and drain systems associated with laundryDiagnose equipment failures using schematics manuals and diagnostic toolsRepair or replace motors belts bearings valves pumps seals and related with equipment installations upgrades and system maintenance records repair logs and preventive maintenance documentationSupport parts inventory controlEnsure compliance with all safety standardsMaintain clean work environmentCommunicate equipment status repair timelines and maintenance needs to laundry and engineering ResponsibilitiesMay provide guidance and training to junior mechanicsAssist the Chief Laundry Mechanic with schedulingSupport training of new maintenance staff in laundry equipment and procedureRequired QualificationsHighschool diploma or GED required.3-7 years experience maintaining commercial or industrial laundry mechanical troubleshooting knowledge of electrical systems motors relays and to read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics and technical performing preventative maintenance programsAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple tasksStrong communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in hotel or hospitality laundry of steam systems heat exchangers and pneumaticsExperience Welding or fabricationAny trade experience HVAC plumbing or electricalExperience with major commercial laundry equipment brands such as:MilnorChicago DryerJensenBraunUnimacPhysical requirementsAbility to lift up to 50-75lbsAbility to stand walk bend kneel and climb for extended to work in a hot humid and noisy environmentAbility to respond to emergencies and equipment failures as EnvironmentIndustrial laundry setting with exposure to head humidity chemicals and moving require weekend holiday and shift work depending on production Require on call or emergency :Varied scheduling to include weekends evenings and :Vacation Pay Holiday Pay Sick Pay401(k)Medical/Dental/Vision/Short Term Disability/Long Term Disability/Life InsuranceFree ParkingEmployee CaféDry CleaningThe Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
