Assistant Bakery Manager

Position Overview
The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing all bakery operations ensuring high-quality baked goods attractive merchandising and exceptional customer service. This role assists in driving sales maintaining food safety standards and leading the bakery team in a fast-paced production and retail environment.

• Assist in managing daily bakery production including baking packaging and product replenishment
• Ensure consistent availability of fresh high-quality baked goods
• Support ordering receiving and inventory control processes
• Monitor shrink and implement actions to minimize waste

• Maintain clean well-stocked and visually appealing bakery displays
• Execute ad plans seasonal features and promotional items
• Ensure accurate pricing labeling and product signage
• Support custom cake orders and special customer requests

• Ensure all bakery products meet company quality and freshness standards
• Follow all food safety sanitation and handling guidelines
• Maintain proper storage labeling and temperature control
• Ensure department is audit-ready at all times

• Provide friendly engaging and helpful service to customers
• Assist customers with product selection custom orders and recommendations
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
• Promote bakery items seasonal features and specialty products

• Assist in supervising training and coaching bakery associates
• Delegate daily tasks and ensure completion of workload
• Support hiring onboarding and performance development
• Step into leadership role in absence of the Bakery Manager

• Previous bakery food service or retail experience preferred
• Knowledge of baking processes and food handling practices
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production-focused environment
• Leadership and communication skills

• Frequent standing bending and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Exposure to warm kitchen and production environments
• Flexible schedule including early mornings evenings weekends and holidays
