What We Are Looking For
The Assistant Athletic Director for Governance and Regulatory Affairs provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Universitys athletics compliance program ensuring adherence to NCAA Big 12 Conference College Sports Commission (CSC)/House Settlement and institutional rules and regulations. This position serves as a trusted compliance advisor to assigned sport programs and campus stakeholders promoting a culture of integrity while managing complex regulatory matters education initiatives athletics admissions and student-athlete eligibility processes. The Assistant AD partners across the University to support compliance with financial aid roster management Name Image and Likeness (NIL) and evolving collegiate athletics legislation.
A bachelors degree with 3 years of experience is required.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the US on a full time basis.
What Will You Do
- Provide leadership in monitoring compliance with NCAA Big 12 Conference College Sports Commission (CSC)/House Settlement and Baylor University rules regulations and institutional policies
- Serve as the primary compliance liaison for assigned sport programs providing timely guidance and interpretations on eligibility recruiting financial aid awards and benefits playing and practice seasons and other NCAA legislative matters
- Lead and coordinate compliance monitoring efforts including reviews investigations waiver submissions self-reports and the resolution of potential NCAA and conference violations
- Develop implement and evaluate a comprehensive athletics compliance education program for coaches staff student-athletes boosters and campus constituents
- Serve as the primary point of contact for athletics admissions and international student-athlete processes ensuring compliance with institutional conference and NCAA eligibility requirements
- Assist compliance processes related to athletics financial aid roster management NIL Go and College Sports Commission/House Settlement reporting and operational requirements
- Collaborate with key campus partners including Admissions Financial Aid the Registrars Office International Student and Scholar Services Academic Support and other institutional offices to facilitate compliant and efficient student-athlete services
- Monitor legislative developments and emerging compliance issues providing proactive guidance and implementing process improvements to maintain institutional compliance
- Maintain accurate compliance records documentation and reporting while supporting internal and external audits
- Foster a culture of rules education ethical decision-making and institutional accountability throughout the athletics department
- Supervise compliance projects and initiatives as assigned and provide leadership within the Athletics Compliance Office
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Department of Athletics
