Partnership with Children provides critical integrated student supports including counseling school-wide services and family and community outreach in high-poverty New York City public schools so students can reach their full North Star: We believe that every child should have the cognitive social and emotional skills to be their authenticselves to develop self-sufficiency and to build the foundation for strong supportive relationships.
Partnership with Children is seeking an Assistant Afterschool Director whoalong with the Afterschool Directorwillbe responsible formaintainingthe day-to-day administration and supervision of the Middle School Afterschool Program at South BronxAcademy for Applied Assistant Director shares responsibility for hiring training and supervision of staff and volunteers program and budget development andmaintainingprogram quality and records.
Responsibilities:
Work with the AfterschoolDirector hire train develop and directly supervise part-time employees and volunteers and evaluate program staff to ensure that program goals are in alignmentgrant and funder requirements
Assistin the development and facilitation of staff orientation team huddles professional development andparticipatein regular staff meetings as well as coordinate program schedules of staff and recipients.
Assistwith the developmentofprograms which focus onphysicalrecreationaland educational needs of participants
Assistswith oversight of program vendors andsub-contractors
Work closely withschooladministration to ensure that afterschool programming aligns with the needs of the school community offering a wide range of enrichment programming
Assist theAfterschoolDirector in organizing school events including but not limited to the Annual Back to School Event Open House and other school related events that contribute to the collaboration and strengthen theschool and communitypartnership
Respond appropriately to emergencies ensuring proper protocols documentation follow-up as well as assessment and when necessary adjustment ofprotocols;procedures;and expectations.
Perform conflict mediation and crisis intervention as needed.
Ensure program compliancein accordancewithSACC)NYCPS DOHOCFS and DYCD
Ensure that enrollment ismaintainedincluding systems of recruitment attendance and dataentry
Maintainstimelyand consistent communication withallappropriatestakeholders.
Completes other duties and leads special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate of Arts Degree or Associate of Sciences Degree or working toward aBachelors degree in Social Work EducationPsychologyor related fields
At least 2yearsofexperienceworking with children under the age of 13
At least 2 years of supervisory and management experience developing and implementing youth and community development programs stafftrainingand development
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written including the ability to navigate and manage multiple stakeholders
Ability to work in fast-paced environment flexibleorganizedand can-do attitude
Excellent time management skills coupled witha strong senseof urgency to get things done without sacrificing accuracy and ethical behavior
Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis and problem-solving skills
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and Outlook Canva Zoom Adobe PDF Editor
Knowledge of DYCD CONNECT is a plus

Salary & Hours:
$60000.00to 65000.00 AnnuallyAll full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health dental and vision insurance a 401k retirement plan with employer match life insurance Flexible spending Account/FSA Commuter benefits and twenty four days paid annual leave per year plus four Summer Fridays and 12 other paid holidays.
Full Time/Year-round position
Assistant Directors schedule varies based on program needs:40 hourwork weektypically10:00am-6:00pm. Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays(as needed); school holidaysandschool recesses
