Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead daily store operations deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve sales and operational objectives. This role develops and inspires high-performing teams while driving merchandising execution financial performance and operational excellence. Through collaborative leadership and sound business decision-making the Assistant Store Manager helps create an engaging environment that supports Mattels brand people and business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead daily store operations to achieve sales customer service financial and operational goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Develop coach and inspire leaders and associates through ongoing feedback performance management succession planning and talent development to build a high-performing team.
- Drive sales performance by monitoring key performance indicators modeling selling behaviors and implementing strategies that increase customer engagement conversion UPT ADS and customer data capture.
- Oversee operational execution by ensuring effective inventory management merchandising standards cash handling workflow efficiency and overall store readiness.
- Partner with the Store Manager and cross-functional business partners to execute store strategies support organizational initiatives and deliver consistent operational excellence.
- Manage facility maintenance vendor relationships and store projects to maintain a safe clean and welcoming environment for customers and team members.
- Analyze financial performance payroll expenses and operational metrics to identify opportunities improve efficiency and support informed business decisions.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree or coursework in Business Human Resources Finance Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressive retail leadership experience in a high-volume customer-focused environment.
- Experience leading coaching and developing retail management teams.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proven leadership coaching and performance management skills.
- Strong ability to drive sales performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Knowledge of retail operations merchandising inventory management cash handling and operational best practices.
- Financial acumen with experience managing payroll budgets and business performance metrics.
- Excellent communication collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail business systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays based on business needs.
