AssetsProtection (AP)teamsfunction tokeep our guests team and brandsecure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks preventingtheft and fraud to ensureproductisavailable for alsobuild relationships inside and outside of Targetincluding store leadersandpublic safety officialsinclusive oflaw enforcement.

• Using surveillance and intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage

• UsingTargetsvideo surveillance systemtomonitorguests andidentifypotential theft risks

• ImplementingTargets Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage

• Properly and effectively documentingcases

• Identifyingstrategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehension

As anAssets Protection Specialistno two daysare ever the same but a typical day willmost likely includethe following responsibilities:

• Create an Easy Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:

• Greet:

• 10ft: be friendly smile make eye contact or wave

• 4ft: greet the guest smile andinitiatea warm helpful interaction

• Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth easy shopping experience

• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you

• Actively support team efforts andassistpeers in other areas whilemaintaininga positive and respectful attitude

• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience

• Support total store sales guestserviceandincrease profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available toourguestsby preventingand resolvingtheft

• Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortagefocus areas while strictlyadhering toAPpoliciesand procedures

• Identifytheft trends byleveragingtechnologyreportingand surveillance tactics

• Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicatingimportant issues

• Understand and appropriatelyusevideosystemstomonitortheft activity

• Respond to security incidents andsubmitappropriate documentationfor all incidents followingAPpolicy and procedures

• Promotea physical security and safety culture for our team members and guests by creating awareness and training safe and secure standards throughout the building

• Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches being authentic and respectful and creatingequitableexperiences

• Work in a safe mannerat all times;comply withall safety policiesbest practices and training; report hazards and correct where possible

• Maintain positive work relationships withpublic safety officials andlaw enforcement

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to beanAssets Protection are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Meet any state or local licensureand/or other legal requirements related to the position

• Welcoming and helpful attitude towardallguests and other team members

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices andoperatehandheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed

• Effective communication skills

• Work both independently and with a team

• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently

• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment andaccomplishmultiple tasks within establishedtimeframes

• Scanhandleand move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 poundswithoutadditionalassistancefrom others

• Flexible work schedule (e.g. nightsweekendsand holidays); come to work when scheduledwork scheduled shifts and take required mealand rest breaks

• Although the role is full-time it does not come with a guarantee of 40 hours each week. Hours will depend on the needs of the business and may fluctuate as required

• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up carryout etc.

• Ability toremainmobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
