Now Hiring: PRN ASC Ophthalmic Assistant-McKinney
1-2 days per week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the order and cleanliness of the surgery center environment supplies and instruments
- Assists in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite
- Prepares for surgical cases by providing the proper instrumentation supplies and equipment
- May assist in assessing ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies
- Provides necessary material supplies instruments and equipment in good working order for the completion of the surgical procedure
- Disposing of trash and linens and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces
- Understanding basic ocular pharmacology; names of meds and their uses
- Follows sterile technique protocols when appropriate
- Other duties assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Minimum 1 Year Medical Assistant preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some college coursework or Associates degree preferred
- BCLS preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill
- Able to think quickly and be attentive
- Be able to work in a fast paced team environment
- Communicate effectively with patients physicians and staff members
- Must demonstrate commitment to ongoing educations and uphold to the highest ethical principles of maintaining confidentiality
- Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
- Well organized and attentive to detail
- Proficiency in a second language highly desirable
- HIPAA knowledge and compliance
