Job Summary
The ARFF Operations Tech & Airport Firefighter assists with responsibilities for keeping the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139 and Transportation Security Regulation Part 1542. This position also assists with routine airfield property grounds maintenance lighting systems pavement and building maintenance snow removal wildlife depredation and related work.
Duties:
- Operates all firefighting and rescue vehicle equipment;
- Responds to all on-airport emergencies and off-airport aircraft emergencies accessible;
- Provides airport security when necessary;
- Conducts maintenance inspections and repairs on all buildings airfield pavement runways taxiways aprons electrical & lighting equipment (as required by FAR Part 139);
- Operates heavy equipment tractors mowers snow removal equipment power tools etc. as required;
- Participates in and successfully completes training & testing as prescribed by FAR Part 139; and
- Accurately completes required documentation for inspections maintenance inventory and other records.
High School Diploma; Construction maintenance or other applicable experience; Some fire fighting training preferred; A comparable amount of training and experience maybe substituted for the minimum qualifications;Mandatory finger printed ten-year criminal background check;Basic ARFF Training completion within 6 months; SBY ARFF Training completion within 6 months; Basic Emergency Medical Services Training within 6 months;IS-700 ICS-100 ICS-200 training within 6 months;Valid Drivers License; Ability to pass drug testing ; and Pilots License preferred.
