Description

SFE Engineering is seeking an Architectural Engineer to join our team in Flushing. This is a full-time on-site position ideal for an entry-level professional eager to launch a career in the architecture and planning industry. As part of our architectural engineering department you will contribute to the design analysis and coordination of building projects from concept through construction.

In this role you will work alongside experienced engineers and architects to develop structural and architectural solutions that are safe functional and visually compelling. You will support project teams in preparing drawings performing calculations and ensuring that designs comply with building codes and client requirements. Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of architectural and engineering drawings and plans
  • Support senior engineers with structural analysis and design calculations
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure design accuracy and consistency
  • Review drawings and specifications for compliance with building codes
  • Participate in site visits and assist with construction observation
  • Prepare technical reports documentation and project correspondence
  • Use CAD and BIM software to develop and revise project models
  • Collaborate with architects engineers and consultants on project deliverables
  • Assist in resolving design and construction-related issues
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation
  • Stay informed about industry standards materials and building technologies
  • Support the team in meeting project deadlines and client expectations
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Entry-level experience or internship experience in architectural or structural engineering
  • Familiarity with CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD or Revit
  • Basic understanding of structural analysis and building systems
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction practices
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work on-site and participate in site visits
