Apex is hiring a Project Scientist/Arborist to be based in Seattle WA. At Apex youll have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated group of talented engineers scientists and multi-discipline professionals on projects that vary widely in size and complexity- each making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This role offers significant room for professional growth.

Your Responsibilities as a Project Scientist/Arborist:

• Conduct tree and vegetation surveys develop and implement vegetation protection plans conduct hazard tree assessments
• Provide environmental compliance inspection and oversight on construction projects in the Puget Sound Region
• Field collection of environmental samples (air water stormwater wastewater soil)
• Routine regulatory reporting related to stormwater wastewater solid/hazardouswaste and airpermitcompliance
• Prepare environmental management plans related to stormwater pollutionprevention and spill prevention
• Problem solvingthroughselectionand implementation ofpollution preventionBest Management Practices fordischarge permit compliance
• Assistwith the evaluation and permitting of environmental projects
• Presentationofenvironmentaltopics to employees clientsand contractors
• Travel to project sites within Washington and Oregonrequired
• RepresentApexin a safe and professional manner both internally and externally

What were looking for:

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental EngineeringGeologyor related field
• CESCL certification required (must be maintained during employment)
• ISA Certified Arborist required (must be maintained during employment)
• TRAQ certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience in arboriculture tree care or urban forestry
• Demonstrates sound arboricultural judgment in assessments and recommendations
• Experience collecting field samples of soil groundwater surface water stormwater wastewater and air using standard environmental protocols
• Experience preparing regulatory reports and permit-related documentation
