AR Specialist

ProspectBlue is partnering with an established organization in Richmond VA to identify an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with customers managing account activity and helping maintain accurate and efficient financial processes.

The ideal candidate is organized proactive and comfortable balancing daily accounts receivable responsibilities with customer communication and account reconciliation. Strong data entry skills proficiency in Microsoft Excel and professional communication skills are essential.

• Process customer payments received through checks ACH wire transfers and credit cards.

• Apply cash receipts accurately and timely to customer accounts.

• Prepare and distribute customer invoices and account statements.

• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.

• Communicate with customers regarding payment status billing questions and account discrepancies.

• Research and resolve billing issues payment discrepancies and unapplied cash.

• Maintain accurate customer account records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable accounting bookkeeping or a related field.

• Experience processing payments applying cash receipts and monitoring outstanding balances.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general data entry.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
