Job Summary
Mountain Lion Foundation is a national non-profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting mountain lions and preserving the wild landscapes they depend on. Through education advocacy research community engagement and conservation initiatives the Foundation works to promote healthy ecosystems and coexistence between people and mountain lions.
We are seeking a motivated and personable Appointment Setter to help Mountain Lion Foundation connect with supporters donors members volunteers community partners and other individuals interested in our conservation mission. The Appointment Setter will identify and engage prospective contacts qualify their interest and schedule calls or meetings with the appropriate team members.
- Contact prospective supporters donors members partners and community contacts by phone and email.
- Introduce Mountain Lion Foundation and communicate its conservation mission clearly and professionally.
- Identify the interests and needs of prospective supporters.
- Schedule qualified contacts for calls meetings presentations or outreach conversations.
- Follow up with individuals who have expressed interest in the Foundation.
- Confirm appointments and help reduce cancellations and no-shows.
- Maintain accurate contact and appointment information in the CRM.
- Respond professionally to questions and provide appropriate information about the organization.
- Coordinate with fundraising membership outreach and leadership teams.
- Track outreach activities appointments follow-ups and outcomes.
- Maintain a respectful positive and mission-focused approach in every interaction.
- Increase meaningful conversations with prospective supporters and partners.
- Build stronger relationships with donors members volunteers and conservation advocates.
- Increase qualified appointments and outreach opportunities.
- Improve follow-up and engagement with interested contacts.
- Support fundraising membership education and conservation outreach initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and organized contact records.
- Help expand awareness and support for Mountain Lion Foundations conservation mission.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of experience in appointment setting customer service sales fundraising telemarketing outreach or a related role preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable making outbound phone calls and communicating with individuals by email.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage prospective donors members volunteers and community supporters in a professional and respectful manner.
- Strong listening questioning and lead-qualification skills.
- Ability to handle questions objections and difficult conversations professionally.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple contacts follow-ups and appointments.
- Experience using CRMs customer databases or scheduling software preferred.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and protect confidential information.
- Self-motivated dependable and able to work independently.
- Ability to meet established outreach and appointment-setting goals.
- Genuine interest in wildlife conservation environmental protection or non-profit work is strongly preferred.
