Application Engineer – Multiphysics Simulation

People Hive is supporting a client in the search for an experienced Application Engineer with deep expertise in MEMS and multiphysics simulation to join their international team.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers across technical evaluations onboarding advanced modelling and pre-sales activities. The clients platform supports the building running and validation of simulations across structural thermal acoustic electromagnetic and piezoelectric domains.

The role will also involve leading technical benchmarking using industry-standard simulation tools and developing sophisticated Python-based workflows. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to AI-driven simulation projects and provide critical product feedback to the clients Solver ML and Cloud Infrastructure teams.

Critical Requirements

BSc/MSc in Engineering Physics or a related field or equivalent industrial experience
Strong expertise in MEMS
Proficiency with ANSYS COMSOL or Abaqus
Strong understanding of FEM/FEA and underlying physics
Python scripting skills for automating and scaling simulation workflows
Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

Important Requirements

Experience in technical pre-sales Application Engineering or Solutions Engineering
Ability to create application notes case studies and reusable simulation models
Experience with HPC or cloud-based simulation environments

Nice to Have

PhD in a relevant field
Specialized experience in RF/electromagnetics ultrasound/acoustics piezoelectrics electric motors or superconductors
Industry experience in semiconductor MedTech automotive aerospace consumer electronics or industrial R&D
