Apple Developer App Engineer, WWDR

WWDR also offers programs to help developers connect with experts learn about the latest Apple tools and technologies and adopt best practices to supercharge app are seeking a motivated and proven iOS and/or macOS app developer with an active interest in the Apple Developer community and a passion for improving the developer experience.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Apple Developer app and its underlying systems helping bring technical and design content to our developer community during WWDC and throughout the year across iOS iPadOS macOS tvOS and are looking for candidates with a passion for Apple technologies strong communication and people skills an eye for good design and proven expertise building robust native experiences with Swift and modern Apple frameworks.

Developing the Apple Developer app associated tools and underlying systemsnPerforming engineering reviews to identify opportunities for optimization modernization documentation use of standard methodologies and adoption of key Apple frameworksnWorking with Apple engineering teams to advocate for the requirements of third-party developers

10 years of applied experience in iOS and/or macOS developmentnDeep proficiency with Swift including modern features such as structured concurrency and data-race safetynStrong experience building user interfaces with SwiftUI UIKit and/or AppKitnSolid understanding of software design patterns with the ability to write clean maintainable and well-tested codenExcellent collaboration skills with a willingness to teach and learn from othersnCritical eye for detail with an understanding of and dedication to Apples high standardsnOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsnProfessional and credible demeanornProven ability to deliver quality work on tight schedulesnSelf-motivated proactive and outgoing; able to work independently and comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities

Multi-platform Apple development experience (macOS iPadOS tvOS or visionOS)nExperience profiling and optimizing app performance (analyzing hitches battery consumption and launch times)nStrong commitment to building accessible apps (VoiceOver Dynamic Type) and supporting localizationnFamiliarity with media streaming caching background synchronization and offline-first architecturesnExperience with automated testing frameworks (Swift Testing) and modern continuous integration and Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering Software Development or Software Design Engineering or equivalent practical experience
