HERES WHAT YOULL DO
Job Description:
- The candidate will assume a variety of responsibilities in support of the X-ray nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Microscopy competencies within Clients Leveraged Analytical Sciences group.
- This in-person position is located at the Experimental Station in Wilmington DE.
- The candidate will work under the direction of experienced scientists to provide analytical support for research and development (R&D) Technical Service and Development (TS&D) and Manufacturing as needed.
Key Job Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare samples reagents and standards for analysis following established procedures.
- Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD) data X-ray tomography (XRT) and electron microscopy acquisition and assess basic data quality.
- Conduct ultramicrotomy to prepare sample cross-sections for analyses.
- Perform routine instrument operation and maintenance.
- Dispose of laboratory waste according to established protocols.
- Perform routine nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) refills following established procedures.
- Safe handling of cryogenic materials and systems.
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong skills in sample preparation and safe chemical handling.
- Experience with a variety of laboratory equipment in a chemical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to laboratory safety; responsible for adhering to all safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment under tight timelines and competing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in chemistry materials science physics engineering or a related field or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
