Under the direction of laboratory manager and senior staff:
- Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of bioassay samples via various methodologies to identify the potential presence of radionuclides.
- Performs laboratory tests and assist in the analysis of samples.
- Calibrates operates maintains and may assist in troubleshooting equipment in the laboratory.
- Collects reduces and evaluates data.
- Enters data into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Prepares various reports and assist in procedural development and modification.
- Assist in analyzing and evaluating technical problems in developing experimental outlines and in scheduling analyses.
- May assist in developing new and revised procedures and techniques.
- Helps prepare reagents standards and stock chemicals as needed.
- Performs routine housekeeping jobs to support overall cleanliness of the laboratory.
- Will use basic laboratory equipment such as pipettes balances hotplates ovens and furnaces to perform lab tasks.

- Associates degree in related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in chemistry laboratory or technical field.
- In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
- Must have two years of college chemistry basic knowledge of computer operations and software such as Microsoft Office.
- Requires the ability to work in a team environment and have good communication skills. Applicants must provide resume and transcripts.
- Applicant must be able to obtain Radiation Worker 2 status.
- Background in radiochemistry preparation methods and/or use and operation of radiochemistry instrumentation is preferred.
