Rose-HulmanInstitute of Technology invites applications for the position of Analyst andData Programmer in the Registrars Office. This position serves as thetechnical resource for the Registrars Office supporting the systemssoftware and data functions that keep the office running smoothly whilerepresenting the office on institute-wide technical committees.

This position supportsmultiple systems software and computing functions for the Registrars Officeincluding analysis specification development student data reporting projectwork course scheduling and data extraction.

The Analystand Data Programmer provides report development maintenance and isresponsible for data integrity and reporting accuracy. This includes designingqueries and reports for departmental use and campus-wide distribution meetingcompliance measures for student enrollment data and maintaining documentationof Institute data sources to support dashboards and decision-making reports.

This positionsupports business and system processes for software used across the Instituteassisting with upgrades maintenance testing implementation anddocumentation. The Analyst and Data Programmer manages the student informationsystem workflow and degree audit software including scribe and plan templatemaintenance and troubleshooting based on academic program and curriculum needswhile identifying opportunities for enhanced software utilization.

Providingoverall technical support for the office this position analyzes issues andproblem-solves for end-users assisting with special projects research andreporting as needed. The Analyst and Data Programmer responds to inquiries fromstudents parents faculty and staff while complying with institutionalpolicies procedures and FERPA compliance. This position also provides supportand backup for core Registrars Office functions with particular attention topeak periods such as registration and add/drop.

In partnershipwith colleagues across the Institute this position collaborates with membersof Institute technical committees on data stewardship business processanalysis quality assurance and software testing serving as an administrativecomputing system advocate and liaison between the Registrars Office andEnterprise Information Technology (EIT). The Analyst and Data Programmerrepresents the Institute and the Registrars Office in a positive andprofessional manner and collaborates with academic and other student serviceoffices to support student retention.

As artificialintelligence tools increasingly shape higher education data practices thisposition also contributes to discussions on the responsible and effective useof AI in reporting analysis and student data management.

Qualifiedcandidates will have a bachelors degree in business information technologyor a related field and two to three years of relevant experience. Comprehensiveknowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and database software isrequired along with the ability to conduct research analyze data andinterpret results. Advanced analytical strong organizational project/processmanagement and oral written and interpersonal communication skills arenecessary as is the ability to read and analyze technical procedures writereports and business correspondence and present information effectively to endusers at various technical levels.

Preferredcandidates will have five years of relevant experience; experience with SQLdatabases and reporting tools; the ability to understand a variety ofprogramming languages; and experience with modern computer applications andbusiness workflows. Experience with Evisions Argos and Ellucian Banner StudentModule are a plus.

Salaryrange is $66000 $80000. Salary is competitive. A higher salary may benegotiated based on experience and qualifications.
