Position Summary:
The AML/KYC analyst will report to the Credit manager and is a key member of the compliance management framework of the Gerald Group. This position acts as the Second line of defense for the Group for all the AML/KYC related matters on a worldwide basis. The Group operates in various jurisdictions with different AML requirements.

The primary focus of the AML/KYC analyst will be to ensure that the Group is in compliance with the internal and external requirements in terms of AML KYC ABC and sanctions. The individual will also assist the Group in all the related projects and initiatives in the field of compliance.

Main Responsibilities and Activities:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and sanctions screening on various local and international counterparties including customers suppliers logistics companies vessels and shipping companies.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable AML/KYC and Sanctions requirements on a local and global basis including KYC risk assessments screening reporting training and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop maintain and improve AML/KYC policies and procedures on local and global basis.
  • Follow the development of AML/KYC/Sanctions laws for the jurisdictions where the Group operates and update the senior management accordingly;
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and periodic KYC reviews to identify changes in ownership management business activities or risk profile.
  • Escalate material AML/KYC and Sanctions issues to senior management and/or relevant committees.
  • Support testing and monitoring of AML/KYC controls and identify control weaknesses or areas for improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits regulatory reviews and AML/KYC risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Finance Risk Legal Compliance and ESG to obtain necessary counterparty information and facilitate trade flows.
  • Perform transaction due diligence as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized KYC/AML records and documentation
  • Develop and deliver KYC/AML trainings to relevant employees.


Secondary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the different departments to fill in KYC forms/ answer questions from counterparties about the Group;
  • Assist the management/compliance department on ad-hoc basis for compliance related tasks/project (e.g. regulatory/market compliance).

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Finance Compliance Law or a related field. 3 to 5 years of professional experience with prior experience in KYC AML Sanctions Risk and/or Compliance within a commodity trading company financial institution.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to accurately document organize and maintain clear audit trails for KYC/AML reviews findings decisions and escalations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Additional language skills are a strong plus (i.e. French Spanish Chinese).
  • High level of integrity honesty and ethical judgment in all dealings.
  • Strong analytical interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask prioritize competing responsibilities and work effectively under pressure.
