Job Summary
Cedar Ridge School District is seeking a dedicated and qualifiedAmerican Sign Language (ASL) Interpreterto support students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The following are essential duties for this position:
- Interpret oral communication into sign language in classes
- Facilitate communication among students classroom teachers and other personnel in the school district.
- Convey the content of the message clearly and accurately according to the receptive language level of the student.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Previous educational interpreting preferred
Minimum standards:
- Must hold a valid interpreters license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health;
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; and
- Hold at least a:
- 3.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA); or
- Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) 3/3 (transliterating /interpreting).
