Job Summary
AltaGas - Production Technician III
Reporting to the Production Technician Leader the Production Technician III is responsible for all phases of plant operations. This position requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who is comfortable working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.
The facility is 520 MW Natural gas fired Combined Cycle Power Generating Station located in Blythe California. This is a union position in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 47.
You will:
Preserve the facilitys operational excellence through effective prioritization of operation which promotes a high level of equipment reliability
Ensures all AltaGas compliance environment and safety policies and practices are implemented and adhered to
Follows defined processes and procedures to ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently
Performs all actions related to the operations of the plant
Responsible for assisting with the daily dispatch of the plant operating 24/7/365 on a rotating 12 hour shift basis
Performs routine inspections of watch
Performs equipment troubleshooting;
Suggests continuous improvement projects
Tests equipment to ensure productivity and performance
Respects safety standards of the company and maintain a clean work environment
Ensures all safety rules and safe work procedures such as Lockout/Tag out Confined Space and PPE are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery
Acts as a team player by assisting in ad hoc work both in operations and maintenance as it arises
Other duties as assigned
You Have:
Qualified candidates must have electrical mechanical or I&C skills
High School/ GED required
3 - 5 years of relevant experience required
Control Room Operator experience would be considered an asset
