Job Summary

We are currently seeking experienced Alarm Technicians to join our growing team supporting service and project work across large commercial environments. This role is ideal for professionals who can install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems while providing exceptional workmanship and customer service.

As an Alarm Technician you will install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems in a variety of commercial settings. Projects include fire alarm installations intrusion system deployments access control upgrades inspections repairs and preventative maintenance programs.

This full-time position is primarily daytime work with regional travel of 2-4 weeks at a time in a company vehicle following orientation. Hotel accommodations and food per diem are provided while traveling. We are looking for dependable self-motivated professionals who take pride in their ability to install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems with accuracy efficiency and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems across large commercial facilities including offices warehouses retail locations and industrial sites.
  • Program configure test and commission system components to ensure complete functionality and code compliance.
  • Perform inspections diagnostics preventative maintenance and repairs on existing security and fire alarm infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret blueprints riser diagrams wiring schematics and project documentation.
  • Pull terminate label and test low-voltage cabling including 18/2 Cat5e Cat6 and composite cable.
  • Install control panels card readers keypads electric strikes mag locks door contacts motion sensors sirens and notification devices.
  • Conduct system testing and final commissioning with customers inspectors and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service calls installations repairs and completed work.
  • Travel to customer sites to install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems while maintaining company safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Provide customers with technical support and recommendations regarding fire alarm and security system performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience installing servicing repairing and maintaining fire alarm intrusion and access control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm intrusion/burglar and access control systems independently.
  • State-required fire alarm low-voltage burglar alarm or security licenses where applicable.
  • Working knowledge of platforms such as Silent Knight Fire-Lite Notifier Bosch Honeywell DSC and similar systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards ADA requirements and fire/life safety compliance regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex system issues.
  • Ability to read construction drawings blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable traveling regionally for 2-4 week periods.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely use PPE ladders lifts and standard hand tools.
  • Boom lift scissor lift and confined space certifications are a plus.
