We are seeking an experienced AI Data Governance Specialist to lead governance initiatives for AI/ML data across enterprise-scale platforms. This role will focus on ensuring data quality compliance lineage and ethical AI practices while supporting scalable machine learning operations in a retail environment.
- Develop and enforce AI data governance frameworks policies and standards.
- Oversee data lifecycle management including ingestion labeling feature engineering and model training datasets.
- Ensure data quality integrity and lineage across AI/ML pipelines.
- Conduct bias detection fairness assessments and compliance reviews for AI models.
- Collaborate with data engineering data science and business teams to align governance practices.
- Implement and manage governance workflows using enterprise data catalog tools.
- Drive adoption of governance best practices across cross-functional teams.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives (GDPR CCPA Responsible AI).
- 1015 years of experience in data governance data stewardship or related fields.
- 35 years of experience specifically in AI/ML data governance.
- Experience working in large enterprise-scale environments.
- Prior experience in the retail domain is required.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML data pipelines (ingestion labeling feature engineering model training).
- Experience with MLOps platforms such as MLflow Azure ML SageMaker or Databricks.
- Proficiency with data governance/catalog tools (Collibra Atlan Alation Informatica).
- Working knowledge of SQL and basic Python.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake Databricks BigQuery Redshift).
- Understanding of feature stores model registries and data versioning.
- Expertise in developing and implementing AI data governance policies.
- Knowledge of GDPR CCPA and Responsible AI frameworks.
- Experience with bias detection data validation and lineage tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional governance initiatives.
- Experience driving process improvements and governance adoption.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-driven adaptable and comfortable in fast-paced AI environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
