Job Summary

Abilene Public Schools (USD #435) Abilene KS is currently seeking an Attendance and Athletics Secretary at Abilene High School.

The AHS Attendance Secretary:

  • Maintenance of school attendance and grade records including:

Daily attendance logs and updates

Eligibility Reports

Mailings of report cards

School hour and minutes logs

  • Answering Phones
  • Student / visitor check in and check out
  • Enrollment assistant
  • Maintaining facilities and club/activity meetings calendar
  • Ordering and organization of diplomas and covers
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Athletic Assistant

  • Eligibility Reports
  • Concession stand logs and records
  • Athletic logs and records
  • Yearly KSHSAA physicals
  • Printing of lettering certificates
  • Recognition certificates for athletic and academic achievement
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent organizational and academic skills
  • Student centered; Demonstrated success in working with students
  • Excellent collaborative/teaming skills
  • Energetic creative innovative flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service
  • Knowledge of office methods techniques and practices including filing systems receptionist and telephone techniques
  • Knowledge of state and district procedures rules and regulations pertaining to school attendance accounting and record keeping requirements
  • Knowledge of basic record keeping methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of proper English usage grammar spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability prioritize the work tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of staff and student information.
