What you will be doing

• You will be on a development journey to guide your growth into the role of Certification Engineer I and can expect to be involved in the following:
• Support the creation and review of certification documentation related to Type Certification (TC) changes to TC and Continued Airworthiness of the fleet..
• Support the development and management of Certification Plans .
• Identifying applicable and affected Aircraft Regulations impacted by changes and repairs.
• Typical tools used are: MS Word and Excel Google Suite and Airbus proprietary tools.
• In the first few months you will learn Airbus Process Methods and Tools related to Airworhtiness Certification of Airbus aircraft from new delivery to in-service repairs and modifications.
• You will work closely with a wide range of internal teams including design office specialists repair specialists and Certification team members to gather data needed for Certification.
• Overseas placements are determined on either project need basis or employee development based rotational placements will center on Airbus Americas Engineering locations.
• Your development journey will include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into position.
• At the end of the two year development programme you will have developed into the position of Certification Engineer II.

What we are looking for

To be a successful applicant you will need to demonstrate you have:

• A degree level or equivalent within Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero Civil Mechanical Electrical) is required. A strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
• A desire to work in a collaborative team environment focused on driving future innovation
• The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
• Ability to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:

• Onsite or remote: 80% onsite

• Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens able to read documents reports and engineering drawings; daily.

• Hearing: able to hear in order to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear safety warnings or alarms; daily.

• Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings deliver information and participate in communications; daily

• Equipment Operation (personal computer telephone copies fax machine and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment; daily.

• Carrying: able to carry documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs; once a month.

• Lifting: able to lift documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs; once a month.

• Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools; once a month.

• Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings working on the computer; daily.

• Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

• Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices; daily.
