Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated educator for an upcoming 6-week daily after-school academic support program. This role is specifically tailored to assist high school Multilingual Learners (ML) and newcomer students in mastering core academic content earning course credits and accelerating English language proficiency. The ideal candidate holds valid state certification in English Language Development (ELD) / English as a Second Language (ESL) and brings experience working with diverse adolescent student populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily after-school academic support and language scaffolding sessions for high school students across core subject areas.

  • Implement structured ELD instructional strategies to support literacy academic vocabulary development and grade-level content comprehension.

  • Provide targeted small-group and individualized instruction adapted to varying language proficiency levels.

  • Cultivate a culturally responsive encouraging and productive learning environment tailored to high school youth.

  • Monitor student progress track daily attendance and collaborate briefly with school staff as needed over the 6-week period.

Program Details

  • Target Student Population: High School (Grades 912)

  • Duration: 6 consecutive weeks

Qualifications
