As an After-School Assistant Counselor you will contribute to a positive and enriching learning environment for elementary-aged this role you will lead engaging activities ensure student safety and well-being and foster meaningful partnerships with students families and staff to promote a strong sense of community.

Assistin supervising children during after-school hours including indoor and outdoor activities.
Support students inparticipatingin educational recreational and enrichment activities.
Encourage positive behavior andmodelrespectful interactions.
Help create an inclusive environment that promotes social emotional and academic growth.
Assistwith homework support and academic enrichment opportunities.
Help set upfacilitate andclean upactivities games crafts andspecial events.
Support Site Leaders in implementing daily schedules and program plans.
Assistwith attendance tracking and student sign-in/sign-out procedures.
Prepare materials and supplies needed for activities.
Monitor students tomaintaina safe and supportive environment.
Follow all program policies safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Immediately report incidents injuries concerns or behavioral issues to the Site Leader.
Maintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios at all times.
Greeting children at their drop off location andsupervisea brief walk to thecampus.
Work collaboratively with Site Leaders and other program staff.
Build positive relationships with students families and school personnel.
Communicate student concerns achievements and behavioral observations to supervisory staff.
Attend staff meetings andrequiredtrainingsas assigned.
Minimum age of16 years
Experience working with children in educational recreational camp childcare or youth development settings preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable punctual and professional.
Ability to take initiativeand ownership
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
Knowledge of positive behavior management practices.
Schedule
Part-timeapproximately 18-20hours per week.
Typical hours are Monday through Friday during after-school program hours.
Occasional attendance at staff meetings training sessions and special events may be required.

The After-School Assistant Counselor role requires active involvement in both administrative and classroom environments. To successfully perform the essential functions of this position the following physical abilities are required:
Abilityto move throughout the school for prolonged periods including standing and walking for up to 75 percent of the workday.
Abilityto transition between sitting standing bending kneeling and squatting throughout the day to engage with children and support staff.
Ability to safely lift carry and move items up to 30 pounds including classroom materials supplies and occasionalassistancewith childrens belongings.
Ability to sit on the floor engage at a childs eye level andparticipatein age-appropriate activities including light running outdoor play supervision and interactive learning experiences.
Comfort working in a dynamic sometimes noisy environment with frequent interruptions and regular movement between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Ability to supervise children on playgrounds in classrooms hallways entryways andcommon areas.
Ability to respond quickly and safely in emergency situations including evacuations drills and urgent classroom needs.
Ability to follow and model all safety procedures.

Compliance Statement
This position requires strict adherence to allMassachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)licensing regulations for Group and School Age Child Care Programs (102 CMR 7.00) as well as company policies and procedures.

Salary Range & Description
Salary Range:$18.00-$21.00 per hour for qualified candidates.
