    EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time Teacher Contract (Extended duties required)

    SALARY: Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) as established by federal lawand Air Force JROTC regulations.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:

    Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution required.

    Certification:

    • Approved by Headquarters Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor Management Division prior to employment.
    • Must successfully complete the Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor Certification Course (JICC) upon hire.
    • Must meet all certification requirements established by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for employment in Oklahoma schools.
    • Must meet all Air Force JROTC eligibility requirements.

    Experience:

    • Permanently retired Air Force Officer (Major through Colonel) meeting Air Force JROTC eligibility requirements.
    • Military leadership experience required.
    • Experience working with youth teaching mentoring or training preferred.

    Skills:

    Strong leadership communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of aerospace science military leadership citizenship education and leadership development. Ability to instruct mentor and motivate high school students. Proficiency with instructional technology. Ability to supervise extracurricular activities and manage program resources.

    SUMMARY:

    Provides leadership and instruction for the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. Delivers curriculum in aerospace science leadership education citizenship and character development while promoting academic achievement responsible citizenship leadership and community service. Oversees all aspects of the AFJROTC program in accordance with Air Force and Broken Arrow Public Schools requirements.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    These statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to the position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities duties and skills required.

    • Plan and deliver instruction in Aerospace Science and Leadership Education curriculum in accordance with Air Force Junior ROTC program requirements.
    • Lead and manage all aspects of the AFJROTC program in compliance with Air Force and district policies.
    • Supervise and coordinate Leadership Development Requirements (LDRs) including extracurricular activities such as Color Guard Drill Team Marksmanship Team Academic Bowl Rocketry and other approved student organizations.
    • Organize and supervise field trips competitions military visits STEM experiences and community service activities.
    • Maintain accountability security and inventory of all Air Force-issued equipment uniforms and property.
    • Manage Air Force-allocated program funds in accordance with applicable regulations.
    • Serve as department head for the AFJROTC program.
    • Recruit mentor and retain students while fostering leadership citizenship teamwork and personal responsibility.
    • Maintain program records reports inspections and documentation as required by Air Force regulations.
    • Coordinate with school administration counselors faculty parents military representatives and community organizations to support student success.
    • Represent the Air Force and Broken Arrow Public Schools with professionalism while maintaining military appearance and standards.
    • Participate in required professional development and maintain instructor certification.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or district administration.

    ATTENDANCE STATEMENT:

    Able to be in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance. Position requires flexibility to supervise before-school after-school evening weekend and off-campus activities as required by the AFJROTC program.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

    Primarily inside working conditions with regular exposure to outdoor environments during drill practice ceremonies field trips community events and other leadership development activities. Travel may be required.
