Role:Advanced FPGA/Firmware Engineer
Client:Top Aerospace and Defense company
Clearance:Be able to obtain a clearance Secret preferred
Location:Middletown RI or Canonsburg PA
Education:Bachelors in STEM
Rate:$75 to $79 without a Clearance or $80 to $85 with a Secret (per hour on a non-benefitted W2 contract)

Job Description:
As a Sr Advanced FPGA/Firmware Engineerfor the Torpedo Systems Group you will work with engineering teams to develop deliver and maintain software and firmware products. Additionally you will be the government customer onsite and frontline engineering representative as needed and when new products are delivered to help with installation troubleshooting issues and assist in corrective actions across several development programs.
Duties and Tasks:
- Contribute to design verification and documentation for FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments
- Participate in architecture system simulation and detailed design approach
- Defines module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
- Evaluates the process flow including but not limited to high level design synthesis place and route timing and power utilization
- Verifies test results and analyzes performance
- Develops and presents requirements concepts designs decisions and results to internal management other organizations teammates and customer
- Participates in the improvement of the FPGA organizational processes
- Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards processes procedures and tools throughout the development life cycle
- Working in a Linux environment
- Writing in C and Multithreaded programming
- Working with Real Time Operating Systems
What sets you apart:
- Contributes to the development of new theories and methods in FPGA engineering
- Expert knowledge of Software Source Control tools and concepts (Git preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of other related disciplines
- Proven experience with hardware troubleshooting using tools such as DMM Oscilloscopes Power Supplies Function Generators etc.
- Excellent awareness of business objectives and Engineerings role in achieving
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to establish strong relationships
- Provides resolution to problems to a diverse range of complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativity
