Job Focus Area
The Louisiana Department of Education is seeking an Administrative Program Specialist A to join the Operational Support Services team. This role will serve as a primary support for administrative professionals across the agency by developing streamlining and maintaining agency wide administrative procedures resources and support. This role will also serve as a secondary reviewer for contracts across the agency as well as a backup administrative assistant for program offices with vacancies. We are looking for candidates who believe in teamwork accountability are self-motivating and process improvement oriented.

Candidates with the following skills and competencies are encouraged to apply:- Experience building documenting and implementing standard operating procedures
- Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. - Job Specification

Job Duties:
As an Administrative Program Specialist A you you will;- Second level contract reviewer
- Backup time administrator for the agency
- Backup LaGov admin for offices with admin vacancies
- Admin onboarding and resource document creation and maintenance
- New admin trainer
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Workdaysare Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
