What Clinical Services contributes to Cardinal Health

Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality patient-centered care focused on diagnosing treating and managing care while ensuring the safety efficiency and effectiveness of the practice.

Clinical Services are responsible for medical services that directly or indirectly provide healthcare to patients.

Responsibilities

• Processes all out bound referrals in a timely manner prioritizes urgent and STAT items appropriately.

• Ensures all pertinent paperwork regarding patient referrals is completed and documented in EMR.

• Scheduling of patient follow-ups non-treatment related. Scheduling of labs and port flushes appropriately and correctly.

• Provides effective insurance authorization as needed. Submits all necessary documentation and proper diagnosis to insurance when submitting authorization.

• Keeps patients informed of status of referrals/authorizations.

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person.

• Processes genetic testing and coordinates with pathology departments to ensure proper specimens are sent.

• Complete tasks as stated in the Admin MA SOP

• Back up clinical MA when needed.

• Effectively completes other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited educational institution preferred.

• Strong customer service background preferably in healthcare environment.
