Job Summary

This is a remote position.

Role: Administrative Law Judge

Location: Phoenix AZ (100% Remote AZ-based preferred out-of-state accepted)

Pay Rate: $35/hr

Schedule: MondayFriday (Arizona business hours)

Position Overview

Conduct high-volume telephonic administrative hearings manage proceedings with judicial decorum and issue timely well-reasoned decisions governed by Federal and Arizona law.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Hearings: Manage multiple telephonic hearings daily control proceedings take testimony and make evidentiary rulings.

Case Management: Review files pre-hearing verify proper legal notice/issues and synthesize complex facts quickly.

Legal Writing: Draft clear compliant final decisions adhering to strict statutory timelines.

Communication: Maintain active responsiveness throughout business hours and diplomatically de-escalate party conflict.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Strong time management and ability to handle high case volume under tight deadlines.

Solid understanding (or rapid learning curve) of administrative procedure rules of evidence due process and legal ethics.

Exceptional plain-language legal writing and active listening skills.

Proficiency in word processing virtual communication software and proprietary systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as an administrative hearing officer or judge.

J.D. from an accredited law school (Active Bar membership in good standing preferred).

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

Located in Arizona.

Required Skills:

Position may require the use of discretion when releasing pertinent information solving difficult customer service complaints/problems; conducting research compiling information and analyzing policies and procedures to resolve customer issues. Duties may include periodically adding money receipts reconciling cash against known figures for verification preparing and transmitting deposits of monies to the bank or to the state treasurers office on a daily basis
