Performs a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties to assist with the planning management and coordination of the departments overall objectives. Position is characterized by the need for initiative and the ability to problem solve. Incumbent must be able to tactfully and effectively communicate hospital policies and procedures to employees executives consultants and other individuals both within and outside the hospital.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. High school diplomaequivalent education (GED)post-secondary educationor (1) oneyearwork experience.
2. Three (3) years secretarial experience.
3. Typing requirements vary by department see requisition for requirements.
4. Level of proficiency in the use and application of MS Office (Word Excel and PowerPoint) varies by department see requisition for requirements.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1. One (1) or two (2) years college education.
2. Successful completion of course in Medical Terminology.
3. Prior supervisory experience.
4. Prior health care experience.
5. Successful completion of Professional Secretarys Certification course.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of business mathematics and business correspondence.
7. Demonstrated ability to prioritize organize exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.
8. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Must be able to use dictation equipment.
