Job Summary
Adjunct Instructor of Sociology
Ferrum College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Sociology for the Fall semester.
The successful candidate will teachthree sociology courses includingtwo in-person courses on the Ferrum College campus and one online course. Candidates must be comfortable teaching in both face-to-face and online learning environments and committed to engaging undergraduate students through effective student-centered instruction.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Sociology or a closely related field required.
Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred.
Experience with online teaching and learning management systems is desirable.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned sociology courses in accordance with departmental and institutional expectations.
Prepare course materials assess student learning and submit grades in a timely manner.
Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
Hold office hours or be reasonably available to students as appropriate for an adjunct appointment.
