Adjunct Instructor, Trumpet

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Teach undergraduate applied trumpet lessons to music majors minors and non-majors
• Recruit and mentor trumpet students within the growing HPU music program
• Perform as Principal Trumpet in the High Point University Community Orchestra
• Collaborate with music faculty in performances student recruitment and artistic initiatives
• Participate in departmental events as appropriate

Qualifications

Required:

• Masters degree in Trumpet Performance Music Education or related field
• Demonstrated excellence as a performer and teacher
• Ability to teach students with a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels
• Strong communication and collaborative skills

Preferred:

• Doctorate or equivalent professional experience
• College/university teaching experience
• Experience performing in orchestral commercial or chamber settings
• Evidence of successful student recruitment and studio growth
