Position Overview
Trigent Solutions Inc. is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to deliver MV4002 Simulation & Training for Healthcare on behalf of our client the MOVES Institute at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). This graduate-level distance learning course is offered during Academic Year 2026 Quarter 4 (July 6 September 30 2026).
The course focuses on training issues in virtual environments (VEs) examining how VE-based training systems can be designed to verify performance improvement without forming bad habits or reverse training artifacts. Instruction spans theoretical frameworks in learning memory and cognition through applied study of real training transfer in healthcare and medical simulation settings.
The selected instructor will deliver course content remotely using Government-provided web applications update and customize existing course materials with TPOC approval assess student performance throughout the quarter and submit final grade recommendations at the quarters end. All course materials lesson plans and platform access will be provided as Government Furnished Information (GFI).
Key Responsibilities
Course Preparation & Coordination
Coordinate with the NPS TPOC to align on student demographics course objectives grading criteria and delivery nuances.
Review update and tailor the course syllabus (learning objectives enabling objectives grading criteria) and submit to TPOC for approval prior to course start.
Update and customize lecture materials for TPOC content approval; upload finalized content to the NPS course collaboration website (Sakai or equivalent).
Course Delivery & Student Assessment
Deliver live or asynchronous course content in accordance with the approved lesson plan and syllabus via Government-provided distance learning platforms.
Administer and assess homework quizzes exams projects and/or papers to measure student understanding throughout the quarter.
Facilitate a comprehensive final examination project or paper during the latter weeks of the quarter.
Grade all assessments in a timely manner and provide actionable feedback; immediately notify TPOC of any unsatisfactory student performance.
Student Support & Communication
Maintain regular virtual office hours as requested by students for one-on-one out-of-classroom assistance.
Respond to all student emails and phone inquiries within one business day.
Provide the TPOC with a mid-quarter progress assessment of student performance at a mutually agreed upon date.
Administrative & Faculty Duties
Submit final grade recommendations to the TPOC at the end of the academic quarter; upload TPOC-approved grades into the NPS academic tracking system.
Maintain a complete course journal documenting course materials and instructor observations to strengthen the student learning experience.
Participate in curriculum faculty meetings and preparation for curriculum reviews with the sponsor as required.
Required Qualifications
Graduate degree (Masters or higher) in a discipline supporting medical and healthcare modeling and simulation.
2 5 years of experience delivering graduate-level courses (within the last 8 years).
Broad experience (typically 5 years) as an instructor or practitioner in a medical simulation center or similar facility.
Demonstrated expertise in medical and healthcare modeling and simulation especially within DoD or VA environments.
Evidence of excellent teaching ability.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience teaching in a distance learning environment.
Familiarity with DoD or VA healthcare training systems and acquisition processes.
Experience with Government-provided learning management platforms (e.g. Sakai ZoomForGov Microsoft Teams).
Published research or recognized expertise in VE-based training learning science or healthcare simulation.

Additional Information
This is a contract-based instructional position. All work will be performed remotely at the contractors location.
The contractor must maintain access to stable internet and audio/video equipment sufficient for virtual course delivery.
Course delivery day time and academic quarter schedule will be provided by NPS approximately one week before course start.
Federal holidays will be observed in accordance with the Government calendar.
All course content modifications are subject to TPOC approval prior to student distribution.
