Department Summary
The Department of Biological Sciences one of five departments in the College of Science has over 50 faculty 175 graduate and 3000 undergraduate students. Our faculty is a community of scholars dedicated to research and teaching in Ecology Environmental Science Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Physiology Neuroscience Plant Biology and Organismal environment interactions. We offer Bachelors degrees in Biology Biochemistry Ecology Medical Laboratory Science and Forensic Science and Masters and PhDs in Biology Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Environmental Science. We measure our success by the success of our students and the quality of our intellectual contributions to society.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview
The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a qualified individual to teach Forensic Microscopy for students in the Forensic Science Program which is offered once a year. This posting is for the Fall 2026 semester. Course availability is dependent upon program or department teaching need sufficient student enrollment and college approval.
As professional part-time faculty Adjunct Instructors plan classes implement learning objectives evaluate student learning outcomes and adhere to college department and division responsibilities including holding regular office hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree with professional expertise certification or licensure in forensics microscopic trace materials firearms evidence or similar.
Experience in forensic science and one year of college-level teaching required.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience with microanalysis of trace evidence (hair paint glass fibers soil GSR) and bullet striations.
