SUMMARY/SCOPE:We are looking for a part-timefaculty member to teach three classes in dance for the Theatre Program:Beginning Intermediate and Advanced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach dance coursesfor the Theatre Program. Courses will include a focus on dance basics with an emphasison musical theatre style. Each classmeets once a week for 90 minutes from 3:00-4:30 on Tuesday (Beginning)Wednesday (Intermediate) and Thursday (Advanced). This schedule repeats in the Spring.

Demonstrate effective teachingstrategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as wellas assessment.

Maintain accurate records anddocuments submit timely reports and be responsive to students.

Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades..

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

At least a Masters degree inDance or related area is preferred with at least 18 graduate hours orsignificant relevant professional experience required. Teaching experience is preferred.

None are required for this position at this time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The job requires active physical movement in order to teach and modelvarious forms of dance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Thisposition is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons Universityin Abilene Texas.

Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
