HSU CHRISTIAN STANDARD REQUIREMENT FOR CONTACT INFORMATION:Dr. Robert Brooks - orAmandaWeems SUMMARY/SCOPE:We are looking for a part-timefaculty member to teach three classes in dance for the Theatre Program:Beginning Intermediate and Advanced.
EMPLOYMENTCandidate must profess a Christian Faith maintain membership in a local congregation and respect the values and distinctives central to the historically Baptist values of HSU as reflected in the Universitys Statement of Faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach dance coursesfor the Theatre Program. Courses will include a focus on dance basics with an emphasison musical theatre style. Each classmeets once a week for 90 minutes from 3:00-4:30 on Tuesday (Beginning)Wednesday (Intermediate) and Thursday (Advanced). This schedule repeats in the Spring. Demonstrate effective teachingstrategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as wellas assessment. Maintain accurate records anddocuments submit timely reports and be responsive to students. Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: At least a Masters degree inDance or related area is preferred with at least 18 graduate hours orsignificant relevant professional experience required. Teaching experience is preferred. CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: None are required for this position at this time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The job requires active physical movement in order to teach and modelvarious forms of dance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Thisposition is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week)that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons Universityin Abilene Texas. Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
