Adjunct Faculty Computer Science Programming and Development (Concentration in Quality Assurance)

Special Note:This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Job Description:

Description:

  • Teaches software testing QualityAssurance (QA) courses for the new Programming and Development (QAConcentration) degree.
  • Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
  • Prepares course materials such as syllabi homework assignments and handouts
  • Evaluates and grades students class work laboratory work assignments papers and examinations
  • Maintains and submits student attendance records grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines
  • Be available to students for coaching
  • Periodic meetings with supervisors division or College relative to teaching duties and training and development

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Math or a related field or 5 years experience as a Software Tester
  • Willingness to learn and/or have experience in the use of instructional technologies to teach traditional hybrid and/or distance learning classes
  • Expertise in one or more specialty areas including but not limited to: HTML CSS JavaScript jQuery a JavaScript MVC framework C# Java SQL ASP Net PHP Android Swift SAS project management and systems analysis
  • Advanced communication (verbal written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Appropriately responds to the needs of the community

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Information Technology Computer Science Math or a related field
  • 2 years industry/business experience in computer technology
  • Hands-on experience testing in one or more of these areas: Web UI Native App Web API Scripting Load/Stress Utilities
  • Experience with both manual and automation testing
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle
  • Teaching experience

Special Note: This is a Part-Time Faculty position with the following set rate of pay: $951.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
