The department offersbaccalaureate degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Chemistry andPhysics. We are looking for part-time adjunct faculty to teach Chemistry
EMPLOYMENTCandidate must profess a Christian Faith maintain membership in a local congregation and respect the values and distinctives central to the historically Baptist values of HSU as reflected in the Universitys Statement of Faith.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate courses andlaboratories in Chemistry. The current need is for an adjunct instructor ofGeneral Chemistry laboratory. Demonstrate effective teachingstrategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as wellas assessment. Maintain accurate records anddocuments and submit timely reports. Records/documents include but are notlimited to syllabi grades and office hours. Know and uphold the policies inthe most current faculty handbook. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree/Undergraduate degree inChemistry required. Masters degree with at least18 graduate hours in Chemistry required. Teaching experienceis preferred CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: None are required for this position at this time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The job is sedentary in nature. Must beable to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing office andcomputer operations. Must be able to teach in alaboratory setting. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is apart-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) with teachingload at the Hardin-Simmons University campus. Must be a resident of the stateof Texas.
