Located inGreater Boston MassBay is a comprehensive open-access community collegeoffering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills Framingham and Ashland Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

MassBay Community College seeks qualified part timeinstructors for the current and future semesters to teach courses in BusinessManagement Marketing Economics Hospitality Interior Design and/or relatedfields. Our adjunct instructors hold a masters degree in a related disciplineand have obtained appropriate certification and/or licensure where applicable.

The ideal candidate willjoin a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve apopulation of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidateis expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning collaboration andprofessional development. Adjunctfaculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centeredenvironment conductive to engaging students in the learning process. Thefaculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively withstudents faculty and administrators and responds to communications within a24-hour period of time. The faculty is responsible for managing this coursethrough timely grading of assignments providing substantial student feedbackwith assignments and submission of clinical evaluations attendance andgrades.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course/program requirements and student learning outcomes to meet graduation competencies as appropriate;
  • Use appropriate assessment methods consistently and regularly to measure student understanding;
  • Maintain excellent communication with students department and division staff throughout the semester;
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in teaching and learning;
  • Submit midterm and final grade reports attendance records early alerts and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a Masters degree in related field;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Community College experience preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty staff and student body;
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
  • Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively;

Preferred Qualifications:
