Job Description Summary
The Accounting Officer provides day-to-day leadership of the Colleges general accounting operations and financial reporting processes to support accurate timely and effective financial management and internal controls. Oversees activities including grants accounting accounts payable payments account reconciliations journal entries account creation month-end close financial reporting support and accounting for capital improvement projects. Provides staff leadership and development while supporting the Controllers direct oversight of grants compliance cash management receivables student refunds and other areas presenting significant regulatory financial or reputational risk to the College.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in business or accounting required. Minimum of four (4) years experience in accounting financial reporting or related financial management functions. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience Experience working with a complex financial management system. Experience in a college environment preferred. CPA preferred.
