Accounting Generalist

Reporting to the Assistant Director Finance the Accounting Generalist will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner in Accors continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability for the Fairmont Chicago. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks:

• Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
• Main focus of responsibilities: General Cashier duties
• Daily recording of entertainment and promotion accounts
• Daily support of accounts payable and accounts receivable  
• Assist with the reconciliation and payment of third party checks
• Maintain stationary level and reorder as required
• Ensure vendor files are up to date
• Answer guest calls for billing discrepancies; folio requests
• Provide office administration duties as required
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous office administration or accounting experience preferred
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications or relevant computer applications required
• University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position: 
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following: 

• Frequent sitting throughout shift
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
• Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps

Additional Information :

Compensation: Subject to experience and qualifications salary range $27.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
