Accounting & Finance Analyst

Position Overview:

The Finance Division within Freddie Mac is searching for curious and creative individuals to join our organization. Our two-year rotational program will provide you with experiences and resources to set you up for an exciting and successful career in accounting or finance!

Your Impact:

  • Support accounting activities related to closing the books and producing accurate GAAP financial statements.
  • Develop your business understanding by reporting on and analyzing data.
  • Assist in preparing unbiased financial reports on business performance for internal management.
  • Gain an understanding of specialized areas of the Finance Division and related areas of the company.
  • Solve complex business problems and find viable solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong listening learning speaking and writing skills while proactively building business knowledge and presenting work clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues to execute projects share knowledge and build relationships with a team comprised of individuals with diverse talents backgrounds experience and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field
  • Availability to begin full time employment in our January 2027 or June 2027 cohorts
  • Graduation no more than 18 months prior to the applicable start date: July 2025 or later for January 2027 cohort; December 2025 or later for June 2027 cohort
  • Demonstrated interest in learning the Finance business and building a career within the industry
  • Availability for occasional work beyond core business hours or weekends as needed

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Exceptional quantitative analytical and organizational skills
  • Previous accounting or finance related internships strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP secondary mortgage markets and fixed income/derivative and mortgage securities (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools including chatbot systems such as FredAI to support productivity and business problem solving
  • Self-driven curious and eager to learn with a strong work ethic and commitment to contributing to the Finance Division

This program is a two-year full-time rotational program designed to provide analysts with the opportunity to gain unique experience working across a broad spectrum of Freddie Macs Finance business areas.

The key focus is to develop future professionals by providing real-world training experiences. Analysts will get a chance to learn be mentored by and work alongside best-in-class professionals to support our mission of Making Home Possible. At the conclusion of the rotation period analysts are encouraged to apply for a full-time position within the company. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $63000 - $95000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
