Our Client an Automotive Components company is looking for an Accountant for their McAllen TX location.

Responsibilities:

Compiles and analyzes inventories COGS (sales basis) and manufacturing costs.
Reconcile inventories from sub-ledger to G/L including preparing proper journal entries.
Review inventory sub-ledgers.
Understand and analysis system linkage as we use 2 independent system GMS (inventories) and ORACLE (financial accounting).
Understand procedures and controls over inventories and report to management any missing or deficiencies in controls.
Communicate with other departments to figure out issues over inventories.
Perform statistical analyses to determine trends estimates and significant changes and write narrative report.
Reconcile and assess inventory reserves.
Conduct studies and submits recommendations for improving the organizations accounting operation.

Requirements:

BS (Accounting) degree
Minimum 5-year experience at accounting industry
Experience at manufacturing companies is plus
Understand the concept of BS and IS
Advanced or intermediate excel skill.
Logical thinking.
Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
Automobile industry experience (desired)
Knowledge and Experience of unique transactions in automobile industry (such as ASN and EDI) is big plus.
Proactive detail oriented and hands-on attitude desired
Capability to notice the detail desired.
Spreadsheets (MS Excel).
Databases (MS Access) intermediate or more is a plus.
Word Processing (MS Word) intermediate or more is a plus.
