What Youll Be Doing

As a Payroll Specialist/Accountant you will be responsible for payroll processing and additional bookkeeping duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Controller the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the Centers biweekly payroll processing as well as additional bookkeeping duties to include:

• Compiling payroll data computing for accuracy and checking proper authorization
• Posting wages/deductions and reconciling errors
• Processing garnishment requests in compliance with garnishment laws
• Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
• Updating reconciling and recording employee leave balances
• Preparing and issuing paychecks - EFT stubs
• Maintaining employee confidence and protecting all payroll documents keeping information confidential
• Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting any variances immediately
• Posting and reconciling daily cash receipts in ledger
• Completing monthly billing for the childcare center using the applicable billing system
• Set up other state payroll tax accounts for remote workers as needed
• Other job-related duties as assigned by the Controller

Physical requirements include the following:

• May stay stationery for prolonged periods of time.
• Moves within the facility.
• Occasionally exposed to stressful or emergent situations.
• Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment.

What Were Looking ForThe Must-Haves

• High school diploma and general accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Practical understanding of applicable federal and state laws regarding pay deductions and taxes.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency including Excel.
• Per Health Solutions policy the employee in this position cannot have any family members who also work at Health Solutions.

What wed Like to See in youthe Nice-to-Haves

• Associates degree
• Three (3) years of automated payroll experience
• Spanish language skills
