Job Summary

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys more than just working with numbers

The Arc Lexington is looking for an Accountant who can combine strong financial skills with sound judgment problem-solving and a commitment to providing excellent service to the People and families we support.

As our Accountant youll play an important role in supporting the financial operations of Lexington and our Transitions program. Youll manage a variety of general ledger functions including account reconciliations prepaid expenses month-end entries and investigating and resolving financial discrepancies. Youll also assist with audits and help maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records.

A unique part of this position is supporting the financial administration of the Transitions program. This includes private-pay tuition and residential rent billing accounts receivable payment processing and the preparation and administration of standard student contracts. Youll work directly with Transitions families and staff to answer financial questions resolve account-related concerns and develop appropriate solutions based on individual circumstances.

Were looking for someone who is detail-oriented analytical organized and comfortable working independently. Youll need to be able to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines exercise sound judgment and discretion and communicate financial information clearly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field is required or an Associates degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion work independently and communicate financial information clearly and professionally.
