You will support cost accounting and manufacturing finance to drive accurate product costing and variance analysis that inform management decisions. You will partner with operations supply chain and finance stakeholders to improve reporting controls and performance. This role works onsite on a standard daytime shift (5x8 days) supporting a 40-hour workweek.
- Compile analyze and report cost accounting information including product costs manufacturing variances inventory valuation and cost of goods sold
- Analyze material labor overhead scrap rework and other manufacturing cost drivers to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support month-end close activities: prepare journal entries perform account reconciliations conduct inventory analysis and produce variance reporting
- Maintain and review standard costs bills of material routings and overhead rates in coordination with operations and supply chain
- Prepare financial and operational reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing cost inventory and manufacturing performance data
- Partner with operations and management to explain cost variances evaluate business performance and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies internal controls and applicable financial reporting requirements
- Support budgeting forecasting and planning activities related to manufacturing costs and inventory
- Apply continuous improvement methods to improve cost accounting processes reporting accuracy and internal controls
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to inventory operations systems or process improvements
- Bachelors degree (BS) required
- Typically six or more years of related cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and applicable accounting regulations (including Cost Accounting Standards and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations as applicable)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles: standard costing inventory valuation cost of goods sold and manufacturing variance analysis
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems spreadsheets and reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to collect and analyze data and draw valid conclusions
- Effective communication skills to present financial information to management operations supply chain and other business partners
- Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement initiatives and work effectively in a team environment
- Experience specifically in manufacturing or aerospace-related cost accounting environments
$51.70 - $64.63/hour
