Accessory Product Design Engineer

You will conceive design and bring into life products that will redefine the user accessories Product Design team works across a variety of product categories within Apple. We are a dynamic group that tackles new projects and helps guide them from early architecture explorations all the way through mass production. You will collaborate with a wide assortment of cross-functionals teams to create and refine new designs overcome technical challenges and produce incredible products.

We are looking to add a highly motivated Product Design engineer to the team. This role is for someone with strong mechanical design fundamentals an ability to closely collaborate with cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills. The role will require the ability to deliver outstanding design solutions while balancing multiple priorities on demanding addition to the design of parts and assemblies in CAD you will be responsible for building prototypes validating their performance and pursuing continual improvements. As designs mature you will also work with vendors and contract manufacturers to implement and optimize your designs at scale.

B.S. in mechanical engineering Product Design or comparable fieldsn1 years experience in Product Design or equivalent nFamiliarity with 3D CAD and creating 2D drawingsnFluency with mechanical engineering fundamentals nVaried knowledge of materials and manufacturing methodsnExperience with building prototypes or fabricating partsnKnowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics

M.S. in mechanical engineering product design or comparable fieldsn3 years of professional mechanical engineering or Product Design experiencenStrong communication and presentation skillsnProficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawingsnExperience with design of consumer electronics PCBs and/or flexesnFamiliarity with high volume mass production processes and challengesnExperience working and coordinating with different cross functional engineering disciplinesnDirect experience with injection molding CNC stamping forming and/or weldingnCapability with tolerance analysis and/or geometric tolerancing (GDu0026T)nExperience working with overseas manufacturersnFamiliarity with finite element analysis (FEA)
