The Beats Accessories Product Design team is seeking a product design engineer to work on the next-generation of products. We work in a highly-collaborative fast-paced environment with teams across Apple including Industrial Design Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Reliability Software and Marketing to define product objectives design solutions and validate the performance of those designs through mass production all while keeping customer experience at the forefront. Our contributions have broad impacts from the overall system size and shape down to the smallest details.

As a member of our Beats Accessories Product Design team you would conceive design test solve problems and bring into production a diverse array of accessory products. We work closely with various multi-functional teams including Industrial Design Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Reliability Software and Marketing. Expertly integrating advanced components into brand new products means every single day is different here! This role may require international travel (10%).

Design mechanical parts including plastic metal or softgoods partsnCollaborate with cross functional teams to understand and execute on critical integration and performance requirementsnCreate 2D technical drawings and review dimensional inspection reportsnPerform engineering analysis (including basic mechanical finite element analysis) to ensure designs meet all requirements throughout the product lifecyclenSupport factory builds and on-site development activities including periodic international travelnConduct failure analysis on failed units and determine corrective actions

2 years experience in product design or equivalentnBS Mechanical EngineeringnDemonstrated ability in plastic and metal part designn3-D CAD skillsnExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) statistical tolerance analysis techniques and geometric tolerancingnStrong analytical/problem solving skills experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirementsnSome experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysisnExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to multi-disciplinary teamsnCollaborative detail-oriented and driven to deliver with a high standard of qualitynFlexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environmentnAbility to travel internationally (10%)
